'TOSCA' THE READING DOG -- 'Tosca', a certified pet therapy animal, is pictured here with Tyler Hughes (who’s reading the Berenstain Bears’ “Inside, Outside, Upside Down” to her). Owned by Nancy Farrell of Stratham, the gentle, well-trained Tosca (a Labradoodle) is one of the Lane Library’s two reading dogs that children can read to in order to practice their skills, or just have a new furry friend who enjoys stories.

'TOSCA' THE READING DOG -- 'Tosca', a certified pet therapy animal, is pictured here with Emily and Laura Adams (accompanied by their mom, Natalia). Owned by Nancy Farrell of Stratham, the gentle, well-trained Tosca (a Labradoodle) is one of the Lane Library’s two reading dogs that children can read to in order to practice their skills, or just have a new furry friend who enjoys stories. Coming up on Monday, October 29, the library’s fox terrier volunteer, Petey, will be at the library with his owner Bess from 3-4 p.m. Sign-ups for the 15-minute sessions with either Tosca and Petey are required in advance, and may be done by calling the Children’s Room at (603) 926-4729.
