Heading For Pembroke Town Library.
You'll be seeing a different face around the Pembroke Town Library. Cindy Stosse of Concord started Wednesday as the library's new director.
Stosse, who replaces Pam Stauffacher, comes to Pembroke from the Lane Memorial Library in Hampton, where she worked for five years. Before that she worked for a library in Pennsylvania for 12 years.
But Marie Brezosky, chairwoman of the library's board of trustees, says what made Stosse stand out from other applicants was more than her extensive background in library work.
"We really liked the way she presented in an interview. She has a lot of enthusiasm and is a proactive kind of person. She's interested in the growth of the library and has a lot of fresh new ideas," said Brezosky.
Stosse said she's interested in increasing adult and children's services at the library, but before she'll say what direction she's planning to go in she has some work to do.
"I need to get to know the community and determine what the community wants. Each community is so different," she said. The Pembroke Town Library, 313 Pembroke St., is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays from noon to 4 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 485-7851.
