HAMPTON -- The Friends of the Lane Memorial Library just wrapped up their recent holiday bake sale and raffle, which was deemed “tremendously successful” as the profit that was raised came to a total of $1,445.
An unmistakable holiday spirit was in the air, and the library was bustling with activity throughout the 2-1/2 day event.
During the fundraiser, the members of the teen advisory group held their own bake sale and assisted the Friends in selling raffle chances on the holiday décor items. One of the hottest items happened to be the handmade doll clothes. The Friends essentially sold out on Thursday morning but offered to take orders for doll clothes from people who really wanted them.
The raffle winners were chosen by library patron Helen Snow; they included Pat Leary, who won the $40 gift certificate to Seacoast Florist. Barrie Russell won the Santa Sleigh donated by Fleurs de Margrit; Pat Murphy won the holiday centerpiece donated by Barrymore Designs; and Barbara Costello won the hanging holiday swag donated by Naturally Silk. The winners were ecstatic.
The items so generously donated were much appreciated by the Friends and drew considerable attention from the staff, patrons, and visitors at the library.
The Friends would like to thank all of the talented and generous bakers and dedicated workers as the sale would not have achieved that level of success without them.
