The Hampton Area and Exeter Area Chambers of Commerce recently celebrated with Savory Square Bistro at a ribbon cutting to announce new management of The Bistro.
In February 2012, just prior to the explosion of new restaurants in Hampton, Chez Boucher opened its newest addition under the leadership of owner Chef Ron Boucher and Executive Chef Myles Underwood. Savory Square Bistro became a full-service restaurant and lounge after years of successful “Friday Night Bistro Night” dinners as part of Chez Boucher Cooking School. The newly renovated space at 32 Depot Square captures that old world flavor and feeling found in so many southern French bistro-style restaurants.
As the one-year anniversary of Savory Square Bistro, aka “The Bistro”, approaches, it seemed a fitting time to “pass the torch” and bring the restaurant to its next phase. Chef Myles & Kathleen Murphy have officially taken over management of Savory Square Bistro as of January 1, 2013. Chef Ron will continue full time with the Chez Boucher Cooking School still providing a wide variety of cooking classes, corporate events, cooking with friends parties and catering as well as the launch of the new Avocational Culinary & Pastry Arts programs.
Chef Myles & Kathleen bring a vibrant, fresh approach to “The Bistro” and collectively have over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry. After earning his B.S. in hospitality management through the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business, Chef Myles went on to obtain a degree in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco. Kathleen holds a B.A. in English from the University of NH and was a 2010 graduate of Chez Boucher’s professional culinary program.
Chef Myles & Kathleen are excited to launch the new bistro-style menu to share with their dedicated and new patrons alike! Along with the new menu, great selection of spirits & wines and fresh new look, they will introduce a new online reservation system making it easier than ever for patrons to make a reservation.
