HAMPTON -- The town's oldest resident, Mrs. Belle G. Perkins, 95, of 238 Landing Road, died Sunday at her home. She was the widow of Fred E. Perkins.
Mrs. Perkins received the Boston Post cane on her 95th birthday from then chairman of selectmen, Walter Vanderpool.
Born in Stanstead, Canada, Sept. 4, 1876, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna Glidden.
She was a 75-year member of the Hampton Baptist Church and for more than 40 years was its choir director. She was a member of Orient Chapter, OES, of Exeter.
Survivors include a son, Harold G. Perkins of Hampton and a daughter, Mrs. Maybelle Storer of Melrose, Mass.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Ronald A. Remick Funeral Home conducted by Rev. John F. Scruton, pastor of the Hampton Baptist Church.
Burial was in the High Street Cemetery.
