HAMPTON —- Howard Haddan "Howie" Noyes, 70, of 244 Winnacunnet Road, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Exeter Hospital.
Born March 20, 1929, In Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Roland I. and Greta (Meyers) Noyes. He attended Hampton schools and graduated from Hampton Academy in 1947.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
In 1988, he retired from Sanders Lockheed in Nashua, where he had been employed since 1966. He also worked as a patrolman from 1953 to 1961 for the Hampton Police Department.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Lodge No. 56 F & AM of Portsmouth; a member of Hamptons' American Legion Post No. 35; a member and longtime secretary of the Hampton River Boat Club; and a member of the Hampton Historical Society.
WE REMEMBER: For 46 years, he was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Nudd) "Betty" Noyes, who died Feb. 16, 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia E. Trefethen and her husband, Donald, of Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y.; a son, Stacy R. Noyes and his wife, Debra, of Hampton; five grandchildren, Tracy, Stephanie and Cory Trefethen of Cornwall on Hudson, and Lisa and Kelly Noyes of Hampton; his companion, Dottie Trofatter of Hampton; a sister, Marjorie McBride of South Hero, Vt.; two nephews, James and Steven Sylvester; and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lou Noyes.
SERVICES: NOYES — Howard "Howie" Haddan Noyes, 70, of 244 Winnacunnet Road, Hampton, died April 24, 1999. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. American Legion service at 6:45 p.m. and Masonic service at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton. Family flowers only. If desired, donations may be made to the Shriners Burns Institute, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
