Carolyn Bartlett Palmer Brewster
August 13, 1923 - March 26, 1999
HAMPTON - Carolyn Bartlett Palmer Brewster, 75, of 23 N Street, died Friday, March 26, 1999 at her home.
She was born August 13, 1923, in Newburyport, MA, the daughter of the late Norman and Gertrude (Pletsch) Bartlett, and had resided in Hampton for 25 years, coming from Kensington.
She was a graduate of Amesbury (MA) High School and received her associates degree from Kathryn Gibbs in Boston.
Mrs. Brewster was a secretary for the Hampton town manager for a number of years. She was previously a legal secretary for Shute, Engel and Frasier in Exeter for six years.
She was the coordinator of the volunteer program at Exeter Hospital which included the Candy Stripers and adult program. She was also a 4 H leader in Kensington and enjoyed teaching sewing to the children. Mrs. Brewster was an active member of the Parent-Teachers Association in Kensington and on the state level.
She was past president and a member of the Seacoast Business and Professional Women's Club, and was active in attending conventions with the BPW on the state level.
Mrs. Brewster was an active member of the Kensington Congregational Church. She volunteered her services recording and preserving historic records at the Kensington Public Library and was involved in the FISH program.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Lorraine and Robert O'Keefe and Elaine and Hal Bodwell, all of Kensington; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha MacQuarrie of Dunedin, FL; one sister-in-law, Yvette Bartlett of Amesbury, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Horace Palmer; her second husband, Eugene Brewster; one son, Wayne Palmer; one sister, Rosabelle Legatowicz; and one brother, Norman Bartlett.
