  • OurMedia  A forum for publishing and storing original personal media, including video, audio, photos and text. Offers free storage for registered participants. You can also browse other people's media.
  • Podomatic  Create, find and share podcasts.
  • Audacity   Free, open source software for recording and editing sounds.
  • pb wiki  An easy-to-use Web page that can be made either public or private and can be edited by multiple people. A great way to collaborate on projects for fun and work.
  • MediaWiki  Free wiki software package. The same software used to create that most massive wiki: Wikipedia.
  • wikispaces  Free public wikis. Looking for an easy way to share a Web page with friends and family? Create a wiki.

  • Yahoo  15 MBs of space. You must put the Geoguide - which includes a banner ad - at the top of each page or a pop-up ad will appear as each page is viewed. Must be 13 or have parental consent .
  • Zero Catch  100 MB of space. Places an ad at the top of every page as well as numerous pop-up ads.

Free e-Cards

  • E-Cards.com  These are E-cards that have a global, educational, and environmental twist. A very cool feature of this site is that they list "hello" and "I Love you" in several different languages. Say Hello in Korean or Russian today!
  • Greetings Island  A great mix of postcards, animated cards, and cards using Flash.
  • Lollipop Cards  Very cute animated E-cards. The best part is every time you send one of their cards, you are entered into a drawing to win a 20 pound box of lollipops!

  • 1001 Free Fonts  When they say 1001, they don't lie! There are over 2000 fonts here just for the taking. Fonts are available for PCs and Macs.
  • Blue Vinyl Fonts  A great collection of freeware fonts that are for both PCs and Macs.

  • About the Internet BPL Kids Page  Boston Public Library's Internet information page. Answers basic questions about the Internet, like what it is, how it works, and what you need to use it.
  • How Stuff Works  This site provides expert info, advice and links for just about any subject under the sun (or in your computer). The Internet section links you to an subject area (hardware, software, Web pages) for in-depth information, and even more links. Links at the bottom of this page tell you great stuff that you might not find in an overview article.
  • Can You Guess the Computer?  This PBS Online interactive game lets you test your knowledge of computers and ultimately, learn your nerd quotient.

Dictionaries
