Summer Reading Program Events


All shows will be held downstairs in the Lane Room unless otherwise indicated. Signups for the Summer Shows will open two weeks before each event. There is a legal limit on the number of people allowed in The Lane Room at one time, so those on the list will be admitted before those who drop in.
 
Wed, July 2 @ 6 p.m. The Norman Ng Magic Experience (at the Winnacunnet High School Auditorium)
Norman’s fantastic sleights of hand will dazzle you even as they make you laugh.  And maybe you’ll be one of the lucky audience members called up to help him perform one of his tricks…

Tue, July 8 @ 6:30 p.m.Storyteller Simon Brooks/Friends of the Lane Memorial Library Flatbread Pizza Fundraiser (at the Library, in the Lane Room)
Master storyteller Simon Brooks will hold you spellbound as he tells amazing tales—and he may even ask for help from the audience!  This coincides with the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library Flatbread Fundraiser, so grab some pizza before or after the show, support a great cause, and enjoy a wonderful evening with Simon.

The popular See Science Center comes to YOU at the Lane Memorial Library, exploring “basic scientific principles using interactive demonstrations.”  You and your elementary-aged child are going to love what you learn and explore!

Wed, July 16 @ 10 a.m. Wildlife Encounters (at the Library, in the Lane Room)
Perennial favorite Derek Small presents incredible exotic animals while explaining their habits and habitats.  Past critters have included a wallaby, a civet cat, and a 17 foot long Burmese python!

Wed, July 23 @ 10 a.m. Children’s Museum of NH (at the Library, in the Lane Room)
There’s something for everyone in this fascinating exploration of trash, upcycling, and creating.  A museum educator will lead youngsters through a multi-media experience, including science experiments and activities.  Designed for children ages 4-10, though all youngsters are welcome to attend.

Wed, July 30 @ 10 a.m. Talent Show (at the Library, in the Lane Room)
Do you sing? Dance? Juggle?  Ride a unicycle?  Come show and share your talent at our second annual talent show in a library-approved 1-3 minute act.
