Local Author Brad Boucher - June 16th at 6:30 PM

Why write horror fiction?  That is a question local author Brad Boucher is happy to answer whenever he has an audience of interested fans.  You can hear the story of how he became fascinated by this particular corner of the writing universe on Monday, July 16th at 6:30 PM as he joins us here at the library to kick off the publication of his new book Readings from the Book of Pain.  In addition to a discussion about the merits and challenges of writing horror fiction, Brad will also touch on the subject of how writing short fiction for various publications is different from maintaining suspense throughout a full novel.  Budding writers of any genre take note!

Boucher's short stories have been published for many years, some of them in magazines that are now rare or have ceased publication.  He will give away several of these original magazines as raffle prizes.

Brad will also invite audience members to help choose the cover design for his new work during the course of his presentation.  The library has set up a voting station just around the corner from the circulation desk for those who would like a running start on the decision.
